In Malachi 3:10, God challenged humanity. "Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food (abundance) in my house (consciousness); and thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven (all avenues of supply) for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing." (vast abundance) This challenge was issued because the people were not putting God first.
The scripture in Malachi tells us that a principle is at work. Our actions are not as important as our attitude. Let us put God first, not so we can receive a great blessing, but because our life not only began in God, but continues to be born anew each day in Spirit. We have no lambs to sacrifice, but we have time, attention, and money to give.
God deserves more than what remains after we have had our fill of earthly life. Put God first, not so you can be blessed, but because being a blessing is your way of life. Tithing is putting God first. Tithing makes prosperity's demonstration a way of life - the Abundant Life.
